2. What is the story behind the startup?
Siddhartha founded healthcare startup AddoDoc in 2014. He worked as software engineer at Amdocs before turning entrepreneur.
He found his co-founders Sowrabh and Satyadeep who are IIT Guwahati graduates and worked in companies like Microsoft and Oracle.
The initial platform was only for doctors to help them manage patient data. Doctors were able to feed patient records into the system, keep track of their visits & medicines and send appointment reminders through SMS.
The team enabled patients to call doctors through their system where patients could directly call their doctor without even knowing the doctorai??i??s number.
In October 2015, team launched Babygogo mobile app for parents where they could access their babyai??i??s vaccination details, appointment records and growth chart. It becomes easy for parents to book appointment and call their doctor through the app.
3. What was the motivation to start a child healthcare startup?
Siddharthaai??i??s own experience, how he has been mis-treated with antibiotics at very young age and how the side effects impacted his life.
When Siddhartha was 8 years old, he got misdiagnosed by a pediatrician in Meerut for malaria whereas he had typhoid. The antibiotics resulted in side-effects of Asthma and Allergy to vegetable proteins like pulses. For the last 20 years Siddhartha has grappled with the allergy and asthma. He feels if his parents had access to good child health info and access to advise of best pediatricians, he wouldn’t have suffered from above abnormalities.
The startup goal is to prevent any kid from going through similar tragedy.
4. What impact you want to create on the healthcare industry?
Healthcare would come from Patient Empowerment. Till now the system has been legacy where lack of information to patient acted as slow cause of further development in healthcare.
Siddhartha has a real life story to share with you.
I had been observing inside the chambers of Dr Jain, who is one of the renowned pediatricians of Delhi. Sunita, a mother of a 3 year old son came with hopeful eyes inside his chamber along with her son and husband. He asked the kid how is he doing. The kid murmured “Mama” and then shyly went into the arms of her mother. She started narrating her painful journey as Mom who had been waiting for her son recovery. Her son Veer could utter only “mama”, “papa” at the age of 3 years, whereas at 3 years parents rant about kids constant chatter. Veer’s height and weight matched that of 1 year old kid with his frail legs not able to stand on their own.
The parents belonged to suburb 25kms away from Dwarka. They had consulted numerous pediatricians regarding their child’s late development. Sunita took out the reports she had collected right from the time Veer was in her womb to recent reports. Dr Jain could come to conclusion that Veer had a rare chromosome disorder. He told parents he is not the right doctor to consult. They needed to consult a pediatric genetic specialist.Ai??Veer had a rare chromosome disease as pointed by Dr Jain.
The parents were surprised none of the 20 doctors they consulted during last 3 years mentioned about this. They were asking Dr Jain for treatment. Dr Jain mentioned that they should have a second child to make their life normal. He didn’t give them false hope. He told had they if they had consulted the right doctor when Veer was below 9 months, the defect could have been cured. Now what they need to accept that Veer will forever be dependent through out his life.
The day when mothers like Sunita, have access to the best doctors and knowledge in their hands, available when they need it, would be the day AddoDoc truly disrupt healthcare.

6. How you are going to utilize the money?
We already have a team of passionate & brilliant people. We will use the money to build deep tech and analytical engine. We want to deliver the content to parents, that is tailor-made for their kidai??i??s health care. Some part of money will be utilized in exploring new channels of digital marketing.
7. What sets you apart from your competitors?
Our real competitors are dadi, nani (grandparents) and everyone else who share incomplete & distorted age old advice for child health care. We know they are not completely wrong but most of the advice is not relevant in the modern context.
If we talk about startups, then we have two sides of competition ai??i?? one in healthcare industry and other in parenting content distribution companies.
We are neither a content platform like babycenter nor a doctor discovery platform like Practo.
We are working in niche of mother and child healthcare, delivering value through personalized content.
Our Babygogo mobile app enables parents to interact with other parents & health experts for their child related queries. We are lucky to have renowned pediatrics on our platform on whom parents can trust for medical advice.
We are also making a team of in-house experts on child health to help pregnant women and mothers. The health advice will be delivered to parents according to their child needs. For example, a kid of 2 years having low weight and asthma would receive help from experts on how to increase weight and build stronger lungs.
8. What are your points for future of this app?
We are on the way of becoming a child healthcare platform on which parents can trust as they trust on their pediatric. We will be the first contact point for any parent looking for health advice before visiting their doctor.
We understand that doctors can not be replaced with a technology platform and we are not trying to become a virtual doctor. We just want to become a hand holder of parent and trusted partner for non-medical health advice.
9. How you would explain your business to a stranger in 1-2 lines?
Babygogo is a mobile app connecting parents and child healthcare experts.
